The Best of OSU Football Season

The Ranz family cheers on the BuckeyesWe love the Buckeyes! Shout “OH!” and we’ll definitely give you an “IO!” There’s nothing like spending a football Saturday with family and friends here in Columbus. The Trinity Group team members share some of their favorite tips for making the most of football Saturdays here in Buckeye Country.

PRE-GAME BREAKFAST | JACK & BENNY’S

Jim Smith tailgates with his wife

A favorite among students, fans, coaches and players. If you’re feeling brave, try the GutBuster. We promise you won’t leave hungry. But you may need a nap.

BUCKEYES | ANTHONY THOMAS

We love the chocolate and peanut butter Buckeyes almost as much as we love the home team! Everyone agrees that the best buckeyes are homemade, but if you need to pick some up in a hurry, you can’t beat Anthony Thomas.

GAMEDAY WITH THE KIDS | SKULL SESSION

It’s a pep rally, a band concert, and an awesome tradition all in one. This free event takes place in St. John Arena before every home game. The Skull Session starts 2 hours prior to kickoff, but we recommend arriving early for a good seat. When it’s all done, follow the band over to the ‘Shoe! We love this 360 video: http://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/buckeye-walk-skull-session-in-full-360-degrees/

GETTING TO CAMPUS | COTA PARK AND RIDE

We love being on campus for gameday, but getting there is another story! Skip the traffic and parking nightmares, and take a COTA Bus from the Crosswoods in Worthington or the Fairgrounds. Both have express buses that take you right to campus several hours before and after the game. Find details here: https://www.cota.com/osufootball/

AVOID THE CROWDS | RUNNING ERRANDS

So… maybe you’re just not all that into watching football, or you don’t love the Buckeyes. Relocation expert Hannah Fenderson recommends timing your Saturday errands with the Buckeye game in mind. “Avoid the grocery store at all costs for the hour or two leading up to the game,” she advises. “But if you wait until kickoff, you’ll have the place to yourself!” Maybe so. But is it worth missing all the fun? We don’t think so! We look forward to football Saturdays all year long!
